Following a successful World Championship campaign and a somewhat short summer-break, the England Lions foam squad were straight back on the training court to begin preparations for the next big event on the foam calendar, The European Championships!

The Lions have their sights set on gold at the inaugural European Championships for foam, after ranking as some of the highest European nations at the World Champs in 2024. However, this will be no easy feat as nations such as Austria, Sweden and Italy displayed some strong performances across all three divisions. 

The Lions have shaken things up for the 2025 season, introducing the all-new foam academy. With foam quickly becoming a popular discipline across England, we are now seeing the talent pipeline burgeoning, with both new, young players and older experienced players alike, demonstrating strong potential for the year ahead. 

There are many familiar faces who have retained their place in the squad, however, with the development of the foam league and open trials, the 2025 season welcomes many new faces too. It’s safe to say this years’ squad could be shaping up to be England Lions strongest foam squad yet! 

The coaching staff have been hard at work too, implementing a robust training programme, picking up on strengths and development areas from the World Champs. Training sessions over the last few months have been testing, with plenty of drills, fitness and of course game-time! As the European Champs approaches, players are now focusing on securing their spot in each respective division, meaning squad standard just keeps improving!
