England Dodgeball extends Akuma partnership

Akuma and England Dodgeball have announced a four year extension to their long running team-wear partnership. This will see Akuma continue to produce the squads kit for all competitive competitions as well as training and off-field wear until 2022.

England Dodgeball’s Men’s and Mixed teams, known as the England Lions, are the current World and European Champions. These teams, alongside the Women’s team who are currently 2nd in Europe, will be travelling to Madison Square Gardens, New York in August to compete in the World Dodgeball Association World Cup.

This is the largest partnership agreement signed by England Dodgeball, which began back in 2013, to run to at least eight years.

Stephen Hems, the Commercial Manager for England Dodgeball said: “Our team-wear partnership with Akuma is the longest running relationship in World Dodgeball. This mutual commitment reflects the strength and growth of the sport and where we see Dodgeball going in the future.

Akuma have demonstrated their great belief in England Dodgeball with a unique investment that will help us continue to have the most technically advanced kit in the sport while competing for trophies on the world stage.”

As part of the extended deal, we will continue to wear all Akuma branded kit on and off the court. In an exciting new development, Akuma will also make an England Dodgeball replica shirt for the first time, which will be available for purchase before the World Cup.

Daniel Aldersley, Managing Director said: "We are delighted to continue to be the official team-wear partners of England Dodgeball, we love the opportunity to be at the forefront of the World Dodgeball scene.

Akuma look forward to developing England Dodgeball’s new team-wear for the coming season and showcasing what we can offer to the Dodgeball market. We will be watching with keen interest to see how England fare at the World Cup in New York later this year.”

The new England kit design will be reviled for the first time at the Northern European Championships, taking place May 12th and 13th on home turf in Middlesbrough.

Johnathan Rudland, England Manager said: “Having worked with Akuma for several years, the quality of the kit has been second to none. The players love wearing Akuma and you see the sense of pride when they put on the shirt for the first time. With the World Cup in less than six months time, Akuma will work with us to make sure not only will the players look the best but will feel the best wearing the kit too.”

Akuma first signed a partnership deal with England Dodgeball in 2013, providing playing, training and off-field kit for the squad and staff. England have had two previous designs by Akuma with the World Cup kit to be the third to be designed and produced in the UK.
